Privacy
In effect since October 6, 2026Kill Distraction works without an account. What you block, your sessions and your schedule stay on your devices. If you sign in to keep your devices in step, we store what that takes, and nothing else. No ads, no tracking, nothing sold.
Who we are
Kill Distraction is made by TaSolution Group LLC, 4008 Laramie Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. For anything about your data, write to killdistraction-support@googlegroups.com.
What stays on your devices
- The apps you choose on iPhone. iOS hands them to the app as sealed tokens. The app cannot tell which apps they are, and they never leave your iPhone.
- The website filter on Mac. To close a site, the filter looks at the name of the site a connection is going to. That happens on your Mac. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent to us.
- The camera, for Posture Guard on Mac. Images are read on your Mac to measure your posture and are discarded at once. They are never saved and never sent anywhere.
- Your budgets, habits, tasks, statistics and settings. They are kept in the app's own storage on your device.
Extra Security on Mac
Extra Security is an optional helper you can install beside the Mac app. It runs on your Mac only. What it has to close, and until when, stays on your Mac, and it makes no connection to the internet. Nothing it does is sent to us.
iCloud
Where iCloud is available, the app keeps your sessions, lists and programmed blocks in your own private iCloud database, so your Apple devices can share them. That data is in your iCloud account. We cannot read it.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional. It keeps your devices in step at once, through our server. You sign in with Apple or with Google. We never see your password.
| What we store | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address, as Apple or Google gives it to us. With Apple you can hide it, and we then get a relay address. | To show you which account you are in. |
| The identifier Apple or Google gives your account with them. | To recognise you when you sign in again. |
| If you sign in with Apple, a token Apple gives us for that sign-in. | To tell Apple you have left when you delete your account, so the app is removed from your Apple Account. It is used for nothing else. |
| A random name for each device you sign in on, and whether it is an iPhone or a Mac. | To list your devices and let you sign one out. |
| What your devices share: the names of your lists, the websites in them, the names of the Mac apps you block, your programmed blocks, your Pomodoro durations, and your current or last session. | To give it to your other devices. |
We use this to sync your devices and for nothing else. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share it.
Where it is kept
Our server runs on Cloudflare, which stores the data for us. The list of accounts is kept in the United States. What your devices share is kept in a Cloudflare data center near where you first signed in. Cloudflare keeps technical logs of requests, such as the IP address and the time, for a few days, for security and to keep the service running.
Apple and Google handle the sign-in itself. Their own privacy policies apply to that step.
Deleting your data
- Delete account, in Settings, Account, in the app, erases your account and everything listed above from our server at once and signs your devices out. If you signed in with Apple, Apple is told to disconnect the app from your Apple Account. Copies in backups expire within 30 days.
- Sign out stops a device from sharing. What it holds stays on it.
- Deleting the app removes what it kept on that device.
You can also write to us and we will delete your account for you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: we process this data to provide the sync you asked for, and to keep the service secure. It is processed in the United States and in the other countries where Cloudflare operates, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Children
Kill Distraction is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
